Hawthorne Inn Restaurant Review: Hawthorne Inn has undergone a makeover, but still delivers its signature dish: juicy, slow-roasted prime rib. Starters include a rich five-onion soup, grilled country bacon with fried green tomatoes, and a chilled shellfish platter for two with clams, oysters, lobster, shrimp and more. If you’d rather pass on the prime rib, there are lots of alternatives, including twin lobsters, a roasted half chicken or eggplant rollatini. Cocktails include classics and daily specials, plus a host of margarita and martini choices. An eclectic wine list is also available, featuring California wines as well as several from New Zealand, Italy, Argentina and France. End the meal with the Hawthorne cheesecake. Sunday brunch provides weekend treats with eggs Benedict and a blue cheese cornmeal soufflé. After dining, head over to BAR 2421 for socializing, music and dancing.
