THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Healthy Bean Restaurant Review:

An “only in LA” kind of café, The Healthy Bean focuses on creating protein- and antioxidant-enhanced coffee. (The company also sells its beans, infused with a combination of whey protein, grape seed, blueberry and green tea extracts, online and has plans in the works for a chain of SoCal storefronts.) Along with its fairly traditional coffee and espresso bar offerings, The Healthy Bean sells sandwiches and nutritionally-enhanced baked goods as well as vegan brownies and pastries. (We haven’t quite figured out why a coffee shop that serves coffee enriched with whey protein is serving vegan baked goods, but we never turn our noses up at desserts that are fresh and reasonably healthy.) Also on offer are assorted antioxidant-rich teas and chocolate drinks and, of course, fresh-roasted coffee beans sold by the pound.
