THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Heart in Hand Restaurant Review

: An outpost in the farthest stretches of Northern Virginia, this restaurant looks like it belongs in the 19th century farm belt---the walls are hung with quilts and country-relic treasures are everywhere; there's a working fireplace; and the garden room makes a pretty, covered alfresco seating area, filled with plants and more outdoors than in. But it's the menu that has made this charming location so popular with locals and celebrities; it's American family cooking with a Southern flourish. Most dishes are made from recipes of the owner's mother or family, except the restaurant's signature dish, chicken Suzanne, with boneless chicken breast sautéed with bread crumbs and herbed butter. Lunchtime is ideal for a ladies' lunch, and the house caters to lighter appetites: soups, sandwiches, and even baked Brie or quiche. Enjoying a Sunday brunch here makes perfect sense for city dwellers on a day trip.
