HeartBeat Restaurant Review:

Located in the W New York Hotel on Lexington Avenue, HeartBeat might be the most health-conscious restaurant in the city. Bedecked with colorful mirrored columns and organic fabric wall coverings, the interior creates a tranquil atmosphere for the organic cuisine, which, by the way, is palatable---without using butter or oil. In their place, herbs and vegetables add flavor, as in a simple appetizer of heirloom tomato gazpacho or entrée of tequila candied sea bass with fingerling potatoes, tomato salad, watercress and a saffron vanilla sauce. Butter and cream are not eschewed in the dessert arena, but they do make first-rate ingredients a higher priority than decadent richness.
