THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Hidden Restaurant Restaurant Review:

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Once you have decoded the name of the restaurant on the street sign, you will have found Hidden, tucked in the back of a small mini-mall, in the space that was once Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s restaurant, Schatzi's on Main. A hint: when you smell the cigar smoke from a store next door, you are on the right path. Now, the dilemma starts: where to sit? You will have to choose between the red plastic chairs under the beautiful trees outside, or the black leather ones in the smart white and beige interior. When it comes to the food, it is not as smart as the restaurant’s logo and it draws tastes from around the world, lots of them served tapas-style. You don’t have to opt for the $250 caviar pizza to try the light crust of this Italian favorite that you can have with or without tomato sauce. Italy and Spain are the inspirations for a two-page tapas selection of meats, fishes and vegetables, including charcuterie and cheeses. Move to the Orient with sushi and sashimi that can be eaten at the sushi counter. If you are still hungry, order from the Vietnamese preparations which come in regular portions such as the pork and shrimp spring rolls, the seared Chilean sea bass with shiitake mushrooms or the spice-rubbed lamb chop. Desserts are much more conservative with a cheesecake, a pear tart or a pineapple crème brûlée served in a real mini pineapple. Hidden is also a hideaway for cocktails and a glass of wine (the rather long list includes selections from throughout the world) to be enjoyed at the zinc-top bar, stretching outside and indoors, or in the semi-private cabanas.
