THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Hill Country Brooklyn Restaurant Review:
Set in an old courthouse, the downtown Brooklyn outpost of the popular Manhattan barbecue spot is like a meat complex. The vast space, which includes some industrial chic touches and plenty of natural light, consists of a restaurant on the ground floor and a music venue up top. Unctuous brisket melts when it hits the palate and the tender turkey is surprisingly good. German sausage is Hill Country, Texas, fare all the way: tubular Teutonic meat hiding jalapeño cheese inside. There are plenty of good sides but you can’t go wrong with the chili or chipotle-spiked deviled eggs. Neither will you want to pass up dessert: the PB&J cupcake is outstanding. There are several beers on tap and plenty of good bourbon house cocktails.
