Himalayan Heritage Restaurant Restaurant Review:

You’ve got to like Adams-Morgan for its diverse restaurant scene, and among its destinations is Himalayan Heritage, an ambitious business presenting a panorama of Nepalese food plus various Indian preparations. If Nepalese cooking sounds unfamiliar, just think Northern Indian with a twist. The lunch buffet may be your best bet, for at a set price you can sample a whole range of dishes, and fill up time and again with your favorites. If ordering from the menu, you’ll find a range of vegetarian and meat-based entrées that include the familiar rice-based biryanis and tandoori-cooked meats and rich curries, such as lamb rogan josh (a North Indian specialty) and chicken tikka masala. Other intriguing and possibly unfamiliar options include steamed momo, a combination of such meats as minced chicken, lamb or duck wrapped in pastry, or gobi Manchurian, fried cauliflower with a chili sauce. Sip spicy masala chai with your meal, and end with kulfi (Indian ice cream) or a rich rice pudding. Also located at 4925 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda.
