Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q Restaurant Review: When far from home, North Carolinians crave Eastern Carolina-style barbecue --- and at Hog Heaven, you can come to grips with that epiphany. Step up to the ordering window and plunk down your money for a little piece 'o heaven in the form of hand-chopped, slow-smoked barbecue with just the right kiss of vinegar tang and pepper, offered on the side. Your only regret is that you won't have room for more. In classic Carolina fashion, dinners come with two vegetables and hush puppies (deep-fried cornmeal bites). Ribs (falling-off-the-bone style) are the meal deal on Tuesdays. But Carolina 'cue is about chopped whole hog, not ribs. Banana pudding is the dessert of choice, and sweet tea the quaff to target as no alcohol is served. If you get tired of barbecue, try the fried chicken.
