THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Home Restaurant Review:

A giant, cartoon-like birdhouse marks the spot of this Silver Lake sibling of a popular Los Feliz eatery. There’s indoor dining beneath a wood-beamed ceiling, but regulars tend to gravitate to the shady, dog-friendly patio, where they enjoy the kinds of foods that Donna Reed and Harriet Nelson prepared for their TV families. Comfort food is king here, and the menu is seemingly endless. Breakfast---which is served all day and often paired with a Bloody Mary on weekends---includes various Benedicts with a light and lemony hollandaise, omelets and even red velvet french toast. Later in the day, there’s an array of interesting salads for those trying to be good, as well as sandwiches, burgers, wraps and pizzas. Popular among the attractively-priced dinner entrées are Mom’s meatloaf and Grandma Dee’s southern fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and corn. An extensive lineup of flavored martinis, margaritas and mojitos make Home’s happy hour a major draw in the neighborhood, and unique non-alcoholic smoothies are nearly as satisfying. For dessert, opt for house-baked pies or the “absolutely dreamy” coconut cake. Also located at 1760 Hillhurst Ave., Los Feliz, 323-665-4663.
