This neighbourhood spot, run by the Dawood family since 1988, has become distinguished for very good reasons: the home-style Indian cooking is notable; there's a warm, family atmosphere; and the prices are hard to beat. There are some must-have dishes: jeera (cumin) chicken wings are zingingly aromatic; and the paratha (bread) stuffed with potato is properly crispy outside and moist inside. If you go Wednesday through Friday, order the East African masala fish curry. Many regulars leave the ordering to the owners and, therefore, never go wrong. There's no license, so bring your own alcohol.
