Service is snappy at this polished restaurant located downtown in a prime spot across from the convention center. The clean, handsome space has an industrial look and an ambitious menu of contemporary dishes. Appetizers, like the spicy---and we mean spicy---grilled shrimp on a skewer served with an Asian-style salad slaw will make you sit up and take notice. Entrées are generous enough to split in most cases, served with a salad and two vegetable sides. No boring house salad here; this version comes lightly bathed in a homemade ranch dressing with fresh corn cut from the cob and crispy croutons. Steaks and prime rib are tender and cooked to specs; fish specials are also a highlight---try the slab of grilled salmon filet rubbed with coriander, served with a silky tomatillo-butter sauce. The wine program includes varying prices and flight options (there are also martini flights). For dessert, smaller portions on a sampler plate are perfect for sharing. After dinner, there is no better place downtown than the rooftop terrace sparkling with stars and live music.
