Houlihan's Restaurant Review: Going strong since 1972, the well-known red awning attracts diners who can recite the menu backwards if you ask them. This familiarity is instant feel-good to the folks who depend on the potato soup, burgers and salads to be fresh and tasty. The menu has gone global over the years---there's bruschetta now among the appetizers, and sections reserved for the flavors of Mexico and Italy, and grilled seafood and steaks. Sit in a booth or at the bar and eat wings, potato skins or fried mushrooms, complemented by a beer. Lighter options include a barbecue salmon salad; low carb burger, sans bun; and the Asian stir-fry. Or indulge in dessert, be it NY cheesecake or the signature brownies. There’s good grazing during happy hour, with $4 appetizers at the bar. |
