When the longtime Cuban hole-in-the-wall Latina Cafe closed, hardly anyone thought it would be resurrected as a farm-to-fork restaurant. But that’s exactly what's happening as new chef/owner Kevin Naderi, who helped Randy Evans open Haven to great acclaim, is doing. The 25-year-old chef hopes to have Roost up and running in early December, transforming the former home of cheap Cuban sandwiches into a place where folks can dine on locally sourced meals for $20 and under. Roost will seat 50, and Naderi’s menu will boast 16 items culled from Asia, France, Persia and the Southern U.S. Roost will offer beer, wine and wine cocktails.
