TQLA, pronounced tequila, is the newest edition to the Height’s restaurant row on Washington Avenue. Merging elements of modern Mexican, southwestern and even southern cuisine, TQLA’s menu emphasizes seafood and grilled items, primarily accented with a range of roasted and dried peppers such as ancho, serrano, achiote and poblano. Opening menu highlights include blue corn-fried oysters, jumbo lump crab cakes paired with gazpacho coulis and familiar favorites like guacamole, ceviche and an assortment of enchiladas, tacos and burgers. And, of course, there's tequila. General manager and partner Scott Lindsey, one of only forty certified tequiliers in the country, has selected 167 tequilas -- with more to come. A rotation of eight premium tequilas is served on tap after being hyper-cooled to five degrees, and TQLA’s master mixologist creates seasonal tequila infusions plus specialty sangrias, margaritas and palomas.
