Chimichurri’s South American Grill is a fine dining establishment that offers a unique combination of flavors from Peru, Argentina, and Brazil cuisine. Extreme Pita has moved in and set to open this month. There will be two locations in Houston. The first is Briarforest at 1531 Eldridge Pkwy and 303 Memorial City mall. This Canada born treat is sure to be a hit. www.extremepita.com

Zig’s New York Deli in the Houston Center will be open in late December or early January. It is said to be a Kenny & Ziggy’s off-spring so expect the same delicious kosher meats and treats. Zig’s New York Deli, 1200 McKinney St. #374, Houston.


Genghis Grill-The Mongolian Stir Fry
is set to open December near the Woodlands mall at 9300 Six Pines Dr. This is one of many new locations coming to Texas. www.genghisgrill.com.


Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches
will be opening this month at 1508 Research Forest Dr in The Woodlands. www.jimmyjohns.com.



Aloha Grill has opened. The menu is packed with items you would typically find in a resort in Hawaii. This has brought foodies who long for the Islands to flock in. Aloha Grill is a perfect place for a unique party or a great date place. Aloha Grill, 11805 Westheimer Rd., Houston.

Zoë’s Kitchen

Rudy’s Country Store & Bar-B-Q has opened its Houston location. Rudy’s Country Store & Bar-B-Q, 20806 I-45 N Spring, TX, 281-288-0916. 

California Pizza Kitchen will be opening their third restaurant in Houston, this time in the River Oaks shopping center on West Gray. The new location comes with a whole new layout and a fresh new design. It is set to open September 26

Brenner’s on the Bayou has opened. This location was a long-time home to the famous Rainbow Lodge with its beautiful landscaped grounds and wild appeal; it often hosted wedding and special parties. Competition for Catalan
One of Houston’s hottest restaurants, Catalan Food & Wine, will soon have company. It seems that the full vision of the area is to become the next Midtown. The rumor circulating is that over 20 new liquor licenses have already been applied for by various establishments to open on Washington Avenue.

Simposio’s New Spot
Simposio Ristorante has moved
from its 5591 Richmond location to a much grander place at 8401 Westheimer. The lounge is larger and much more accommodating.

East Coast Pizza in Texas
Grimaldi’s all the way from New Jersey is coming to Houston. This authentic pizzeria brings with it charm. They will arrive sometime in the summer of 2008. Its location will be 16535 SW Fwy., www.grimaldis.com.

Have a Holly Jolly Breakfast
The Downtown Aquarium at 410 Bagby and Memorial will host a breakfast with Santa & Sharky. This will take place every weekend in December. For more information, call 713-223-FISH.

New Name for Rouge
The Rouge at 812 Westheimer was sold this week. The name will change but the hours will stay the same. No names have been listed yet.

No Trans Fats for Taco Milagros
Announces it is trans-fat and Gluten free, that is a dream come true for the die-hard Mexican food lovers. The chips are not greasy and are more enjoyable now without the guilt. Taco Milagros has locations all over Houston.

Old is New Again
After leaving Houston over 17 years ago, a re-branded Sizzler is set to return. The budget-friendly chain offers entrées priced between $9 and $12, and an updated menu will include healthier meal options.


Closings

Taco Milagros in The Woodlands has closed and will open under a new name of simply Milagros. This will not affect any of the other Taco Milagros locations in Houston.

Bossa at 610 Main St has closed and reopened under its brother’s name Timpano Chophouse & Martini Bar. It is still owned by E Brands so expect the same great quality but with a new classy feel.
