Housed in the hip Hudson hotel, this help-yourself restaurant might be the coolest cafeteria ever. With exposed brick walls, long wooden communal tables (with bench seating), and a massive projection screen wrapping around all four walls, this mess hall boasts a bar (where bartenders mix up specialty cocktails and serve wine by the glass) and an island kitchen with plenty of food for the taking. Chef Brian Young has created a menu with ingredients culled from the Hudson Valley. The best offerings are the juicy slider, topped by smoky bacon, and the crispy, cheesy flatbreads. But the dry-aged rib-eye is done right and the pastas dishes won’t fail to satisfy either.
