WORLD YACHT PRINCESS NO LONGER OFFERS HUDSON’S DINNER CRUISES. PRINCESS NOW HAS DINNER CRUISES ON SELECT HOLIDAYS. The only thing better than cruising around Manhattan in a sleek yacht is doing so while eating a lovely meal and drinking a glass of sparkling rosé or sipping a refreshing cocktail like a passion fruit Rosemary Discovery. Hudson’s, a floating restaurant, departs on its journey for dinner (and Sunday brunch) from Pier 81, all the way west on 41st Street. As you sail past the majestic views of the New York City skyline to the Statue of Liberty, you’ll be digging into Mediterranean-inspired fare (big windows on all sides of the dining room ensure everyone gets to take in the panorama). Lamb meatballs are packed with earthy, savory flavor, their richness balanced by tangy herbed yogurt. Black truffle burrata is as luscious and sweet as burrata should be --- but truffles are mysteriously missing from the dish. Wild mushroom pappardelle is nicely al dente, and skirt steak is extra tasty with its kicky chimichurri and side of nutty faro. Between courses, head up to the deck and snap a selfie or two. Downstairs is a bar and a DJ rocking to pop tunes. Head back to your seat for dessert. Coconut cream cake is as light as the clouds you hope are not above, and served with candied almonds and just the right amount of vanilla cream.
