The charming Hue Thai features hearty portions of French-Vietnamese cuisine served with bread freshly baked in its high-speed oven. For starters, try the mini rice pancake with ground shrimp and the vermicelli noodles with an egg roll. French sandwiches are a Hue Thai specialty, among which our favorites are the shredded chicken and the Vietnamese meatloaf on a French roll. Specials include shrimp tempura with yams, curried goat vermicelli, charbroiled pork and vegetables over rice, and roasted duck or beef stew over yellow noodles. We enjoy the menu section dedicated to vegetarians, where popular dishes, normally served with roasted meats, can be had with suitable meat substitutes or tofu. Among the 130 drinks on the menu, we are particularly taken with the chilled almond milk tea and kumquat-lemon juice. Chewy boba, also known as black pearls or tapioca balls, can be added to tea, coffee, slush and other fruit drinks. For a sweet finale, we suggest the eggnog pudding drink and the honeydew smoothie.
