| Hunan Gourmet's menu covers the gamut from light fare, such as steamed mixed vegetables with sauce on the side, to hot and spicy crispy prawns with walnuts, Hunan lamb, and a whole fish with hot sauce. The setting is elegant, with mahogany paneled walls, a chandelier, high ceiling, and a warren of gracious and attentive waiters. Those seeking a fiery dish can try a Thai selection such as a curry, but for something more delicate, there's the Hunan Gourmet version of Peking duck, sizzling scallops with beef, and a festive dish called “seven stars with moon” composed of sliced chicken, fresh scallops with various vegetables in brown sauce, and a large deep-fried chicken breast on top, all surrounded by seven deep-fried jumbo shrimp. Incidentally, you won't find any MSG on the premises or in the offerings on the extensive take-out menu. |
