The Hurricane Restaurant Review: Nothing fancy in food or atmosphere, The Hurricane, in the historic Pass-a-Grille area, is one of those beachside eateries that is a must for any Florida vacation. It's a locals' hangout, where the drinks are fruity and the seafood is fresh. We know people who won't eat a broiled grouper sandwich anywhere else. The best time to go is just before sunset, when everyone congregates on the Hurricane Watch, a rooftop deck where you can view the Gulf's glorious sunsets orchestrated to the music of Bach and Beethoven. The menu is touted as having something for everyone, from ages 2 to 102. No visit would be complete without sampling a frozen Hurricane Rum Runner made with Myers's rum and banana and blackberry liqueurs. |
