THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Hyde Street Bistro Restaurant Review

: Fabrice and Betty Marcon, a young couple---he's French, she's American---have turned this spot into a little Southern French retreat on Russian Hill. The nightly prix-fixe dinner is a good deal. Among the appetizers, we recommend the luscious sautéed snails with gnocchi and pistou or the simple frisée salad with smoked bacon and poached egg. Of the main dishes, the hanger steak is enticing. Betty trained as a pastry chef, and desserts here are refined and tied to seasonal ingredients. Fabrice worked as chef saucier (sous chef in charge of all the sauces) in Lyon under Paul Bocuse. The couple also own Mistral Rotisserie Provencale at the Ferry Building Marketplace.
