Charles Clark and Grant Cooper’s Midtown hotspot is named for the resort island off the east coast of Spain, and Ibiza Food & Wine Bar flaunts the international intrigue of its well-traveled owners. Chef Clark did a stint in Spain, while Cooper lived in Belgium for a while. With this background as their inspiration, they have created exotic yet subtle island drama with a curved wall of French doors, billowy curtains and an open kitchen. Not to be outdone by the décor is the Mediterranean menu. For starters, we recommend the black mussels steamed in Muscadet, cremini mushroom risotto, or pan-seared foie gras. Then move on to six-hour lamb shank with mint couscous, sea bass with mango chutney and blood-red blue-fin tuna. Ask about paella Sundays---and don’t miss the sensational fruit-packed sangría that is offered in early spring. You’ll warm up to the wine list, featuring a range of global favorites, all priced at retail so you can order freely.
