| No one needs a good reason to eat pizza. However, there are a few really good reasons to make Iggies your pizzeria of choice. The first is owner Lisa Heckman, former doyenne of the innovative fusion powerhouse Soigné. Her return to the Baltimore restaurant scene was enough to make foodies sit up and take notice, even if the restaurant in question is a cute, casual little place named after Heckman’s favorite canine, the sprightly Italian greyhound. Those looking for soigné swank can choose a pizza like the Anatra with duck confit, blue cheese, caramelized red onions and asparagus on a thin, crunchy, Neapolitan-style crust, while purists will admire the traditional margherita, made with house-made mozzarella. Antipasto and salads round out the menu. Further attractions include a location just a block from Center Stage and the room's central communal table for dining with friends or making new ones. There’s no table service, and in lieu of tips, voluntary gratuities are donated to a different charity each month. |
