IHOP Restaurant Review: From the easily recognizable blue roof, to the accents of red throughout the restaurant, the IHOP has been serving no frills breakfasts and full dinners since 1958. A wide variety of pancakes, crêpes, waffles and eggs is offered daily, but if you’re hungry for sandwiches or salads, stick to the basics and you can’t go wrong. The patty melt---a cheeseburger with fried onions served on grilled rye bread---is legendary. Ask for coffee, and a pitcher is delivered. Ask for syrup, and the waitress will point to the choices on each table. As with most chains, quality of service and cuisine will tend to vary from location to location, so keep this in mind. IHOP's version of funnel cake, a local Pennsylvania Dutch specialty, is sometimes on the menu. |
