Il Castello Restaurant Review

: Il Castello’s décor is charming but simple: the 65-seat dining room is predominantly beige and cream colored. Service is accommodating and the menu is a reasonably priced and well-executed compendium of traditional northern Italian cuisine. It is what’s on the plate, in fact, that distinguishes the restaurant. Antipasti include cold and hot options, ranging from the caprese salad with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomatoes to prosciutto di Parma with melon. Vitello capricciosa, veal scallopine prepared Parmigiana style; and salmone alla griglia, salmon filet with black peppercorns, mustard sauce, spinach and asparagus, are entrée highlights. The wine list features Italian regional varietals that complement the menu, and the equally classic array of desserts with help round out the experience.
