| Located in the upscale Pacific Place shopping galleria, Il Fornaio is an ideal dining destination after a long day shopping or before a movie. Although a national chain, the restaurant’s décor has none of the re-purposed feel, and its formal upstairs dining room features high ceilings, imposing murals, and an elegant bar. Entrée options include moist roast chicken scented with rosemary and wood-fire grilled tuna. Other top choices are veal scaloppini drizzled with truffle oil or lasagna. Casual diners can follow a spiral staircase down to a street-level bakery, café and risotteria. Dine here on crisp, cracker-thin crusted pizzas, pastas and salads. Risotto, made to order, arrives firmly textured and creamy, accented perhaps with saffron and asparagus or studded with rock shrimp. Desserts leave something to be desired, but we're usually feeling too well-fed to order one. |
