Il Lido Restaurant Review: Maneuver past the obscure entrance and you will discover this stylish Italian restaurant that provides a rare and captivating view of the Singapore Straits. Italian restaurateur Beppe De Vito has created a dining destination on Sentosa Island for golfers and power lunches just 20 minutes from the city’s “madding crowd” that also works well for romantic dinners. The interior is chic with Kartell chairs set around tables and flanked by modernistic standing floor lamps. After several chef changes in as many years, De Vito has gone into the kitchen himself, taking the quality of the entire menu up several notches and keeping it there. Start with the creamy lobster soup with mini gnocchi, or the even creamier burrata with summer truffles. For a light but satisfying bite, order the linguine with fresh crab or spaghetti with sea urchin. Among the mains, we suggest the lamb rack with smoked eggplant, mint pesto and thyme potatoes; Wagyu beef cheek and whipped potatoes; and grilled Ibérico pork accompanied by chanterelle mushrooms. Finish with the molten lava chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream or the crème brûlée with fresh, plump berries.
