THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Il Piatto Restaurant Review:
This warmly lit Northern Italian trattoria is a local magnet, packed with neighbors, couples on “date night,” and lively family groups. The lengthy menu features a dozen or so pastas ranging from a classic creamy carbonara and three-cheese ravioli to more modern offerings such as vegetarian lasagna layered with mushrooms and yams, or a grilled chicken fettuccine tossed with rhubarb and candied hazelnuts. Entrées can include an Italian fish stew or prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast stuffed with ricotta and cherries. On Sunday and Monday evenings, diners can sample “$28 for two” family-style meals with a choice of salad and pasta. Be sure to save room for the signature polenta-cake tiramisu or house-made cannoli. There’s a nice Italy-focused wine list and for pre- and post-meal cocktails or entertainment, stop in at Il Piatto's adjoining bar, the Asian-inspired Jade Lounge.
