This TriBeCa hot spot plays the artsy-bistro card and wins: It’s lighter and more comfortable than nearby Odéon, its inspiration. The menu features all the simple American basics with an emphasis on contemporary cuisine, from chilled oysters and Caesar salad, to roast garlic-lemon chicken, seared filet mignon, house-smoked baby-back ribs and baked sesame-coated tuna, to bouillabaisse on Sundays. But it’s not just the food that is carefully presented here. This is one of those chicer-than-chic places where it’s who you see (and who sees you) that really counts.
