Stylish Indigo, on the mezzanine of the lobby of One Aldwych, is another in-house restaurant at the fashionable property. It looks directly down onto the bar with its oversize sculptures, striking flower arrangements and arched windows. The imaginative menu ranges from escabeche of mackerel to cured hams and marinated vegetable, and a “Create your own salad” option which is popular at lunchtime. Mains might include spring vegetable risotto with soft poached egg, pastas with English asparagus, chorizo-crusted hake, and Thai beef salad. The cooking is lighter than that of Axis at One Aldwych, but the same good wine list and professional, suave, friendly service are present. Pre- and post-theatre 2-course menu £19.75, 3 courses £23.75. Weekend brunch 2 courses £12, 3 courses £24; unlimited Prosecco is an extra £14.
