Inn Season Cafe Restaurant Review: This lace-curtained café has been serving its carefully crafted vegetarian and vegan as well as soy-, gluten- and wheat-free dishes for years. It’s no wonder, since chef-proprietor Thomas Lasher believes in using locally sourced and organic produce whenever possible. His experience in India has influenced his cuisine, which focuses on flavor as well as nutrition. The menu is augmented by daily specials, which we recommend; order the Peruvian blue potato cakes with Michigan pear chutney whenever possible. There's a long list of non-alcoholic beverages, including an array of teas, fruit smoothies and cider. The children's menu includes organic udon whole-wheat noodles served with butter, cheese or vegan cheese; stir-fry with rice; pizza; and grilled cheese on house-made organic multi-grain bread.
