| Families fill the booths and big tables to enjoy large portions of red-sauced pastas, veal, pizza and chicken entrées. Some patrons can't take the wait, which can be very long, especially on weekends, and go for a carry-out order instead, further jamming entryways. Heady aromas from the kitchen will almost make you forget the crowds, the kids and the TVs. For more complex dishes, go to the Ippolito's specialties page on the lengthy menu. Two of our favorites: chicken and eggplant served over spaghettini with red sauce and three cheeses; and spicy Italian sausage with fresh peppers, tossed with your choice of pasta. The typical manicotti, calzone and similar classics of Italian-American cooking are well done here. Vegetarians---and others---will love the broccoli linguine. For dessert, try a cannoli and you're back in Little Italy. |
