This fine dining smokehouse’s dressed-up versions of barbecue and other Southern specialties make it a venue just as appropriate for a formal occasion as for home-cooked favorites. Indulge in tender smoked brisket, turkey, ribs and pulled pork plates served with rich Texas-style barbecue sauce on the side and massive portions of accompaniments like the corn casserole-like cornbread and whole fried okra. Fancy mac ‘n’ cheese is made with a savory blend of white cheeses, and the hefty salads are piled high with fresh field greens and smoked chicken or grilled salmon. If you only have time for a quick bite, stop in during happy hour for discounted beverages and one of the appetizers that include bacon-wrapped quail breast, pulled pork smokestack nachos or deviled eggs with Texas caviar. Make time to enjoy all of these “down home” favorites, but be sure to leave room for the double chocolate bread pudding.
