Bright, airy Isabella’s features a menu of modern Mediterranean cuisine that has established this eatery as a West Side mainstay. With a plethora of French doors that open to Columbus Avenue and extend the dining area to the greenery-filled sidewalk during warmer days, the space is open and inviting --- fine for a weekend brunch or cozy dinner. Dishes like the grilled branzino with za’tar spiced chickpeas, beluga lentils and fennel, or the blue cheese-crusted filet mignon with potato leek gratin and sautéed spinach in a red wine sauce satisfy. In addition to the friendly and attentive staff, the rattan chairs and garden-like ambience lend a peaceful vibe that makes it an oasis amid the usual city grind.
