| On what has become a street of impressive Italian restaurants, Italianissimo is a jewel with cuisine from the “best of Italy.” The melanzane rollatine appetizer is a crafty presentation of eggplant, tomato and ricotta cheese and almost as filling as an entrée. Seafood is as fresh as can be, with snapper, branzino and other choices prepared with wine sauces with a touch of lemon, garlic and capers. Pastas are first-rate, meat dishes as well, and desserts go beyond the ordinary with the restaurant’s signature fruit flambé prepared tableside. With only 12 tables, the room is pretty and romantic and small enough that you’ll feel very special dining in this quiet trattoria. There’s also an extensive wine list and nice choices by the glass. |
