J.J. Foley's Restaurant Review: Most people come to J.J. Foley’s in the wee hours of the night to enjoy a late-night drink, but this no frills, bare-bones Downtown Crossing pub also offers an inexpensive pub grub menu. Appetizers include the standard fare of chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, nachos and quesadillas as well as house-made potato chips, but the real deals are the sandwiches, such as the grilled cheese, hot dog or egg salad sandwich. For a few more bucks, there are BLT, Reuben, turkey club and steak tip sandwiches. You’ll also find fish ‘n’ chips that pair well with an ice cold microbrew. Also located in the South End at 117 E. Berkeley St., Boston, 617-728-9101. |
