THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jacky's on Prairie Restaurant Review:
This cheery, wood-trimmed bistro has a style about it, and it’s a casual, comfortable place to pass an evening---particularly when feeling cozy is what's called for. It’s now under different ownership (its namesake, Jacky Pluton, is no longer involved); Jonadab Silva and Erin Silva Winston, its chef and pastry chef are in charge. And though some staples are still available---killer roast chicken, for example---the menu has stretched to include more than (admittedly tasty) herb buttered steak frites. Lobster tortellini, though topped with truffle shavings and served in rich, pink-hued cream sauce, shows restraint. Vanilla-infused pork belly arrives crisp and artfully plated with citrus-herb salad, while soul-warming, seven-spiced short ribs with lush red wine sauce and creamy mashed potatoes receives a bright boost from gremolata. But don’t be surprised to encounter eclectic dishes, like Moroccan lamb shank, either. Unfortunately, service slip-ups can be tough to ignore.
