A Palace? Make that two spacious but rather somber dining rooms, the walls painted shades of yellow, on either side of a pleasant bar area. We wish the staff would loosen up a bit; it would help us to enjoy the excellent tandoori chicken all the more. Add some fine breads---the naan and aloo paratha are delicious---and some 90 dishes that range from a fine mulligatawny soup to exquisite saffron-flavored basmati rice. The lunch buffet brings in the local business types looking for a bargain (it is).
