Jake's Del Mar Restaurant Review: The view doesn't get any nicer: the unobstructed Pacific Ocean and colorful sunsets. With a nod to their Hawaiian sister restaurants, the Duke’s mai tais flow, the fish tacos are cheap and cheerful on Wednesday nights and the happy hour menu is one of the better deals in Del Mar. For starters, think ahi poke rolls, barbecue ribs in honey sambal sauce, seafood chowder, and hearts of palm salad. Entrées include fresh seafood, steaks, pasta and vegetarian options---notable standouts are the pecan-crusted sea bass, coconut lime grilled mahi mahi and bone-in short ribs. Don’t skip the hula pie. |
