THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jamuna Restaurant Review:

Jamuna is a favourite both with guests from nearby hotels and Londoners after Indian fare with a difference. The difference here is twofold. First it’s the skillful use of fresh, seasonal ingredients resulting in imaginative starters like grilled prawns marinated in ginger, yoghurt and spices, and pan-fried chicken cakes flavoured with garlic, basil and lemon leaf. Mains include halibut steamed or grilled in fresh herbs and wrapped in banana leaf, peppered guinea fowl breast stuffed with cheddar on pilau rice, and a biryani of leg of lamb and basmati rice in a flaky crust and accompanied by fresh raita. The décor is pretty, with pale wood floors, yellow walls and seductive lighting. The second reason is its extensive and top wine list (with some fine expensive offerings). All in all this is a find in an area not well served with good restaurants. Set dinner menu £30.
