THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Japoni Sante Restaurant Review:

French and Japanese cooking ideas and flavors blend here, with the direction more in favor of Japanese, but overall creativity and care are given on both sides of this culinary fence. It’s a beautiful restaurant, with light, bright, subtle shades of rosy pink and red. Tablecloths and flowers add to the pleasing atmosphere. The sushi route allows for eating at the sushi bar or check off the sushi sheet that comes along with the menu. We were highly impressed with the quality and freshness of all the nigiri-zushi sampled. Especially pleasing: the mackerel (saba), the yellowtail (hamachi), the bluefin tuna (hon-maguro) and the vegetarian rolls. On the formal menu, the fillets of marinated sea bass that ride atop steamed Belgian endive with a sweet-sour balsamic-miso sauce are quite outstanding. Also quite good was the double-sauced barbecued salmon with ginger sprouts and long scallions. The ambitious wine list features some interesting choices (French, Italian, Chilean, Australian). Service is pleasing and informed.
