Jardenea Restaurant Review:

Tucked into the main lobby of the renovated The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Foggy Bottom, Jardenea restaurant proclaims its goal as serving locally sourced, seasonal ingredients in a “farm-to-fork” manner. As such, you might think the setting would be rustic. Instead, the décor is fashionably modern with gray and white tiles. There’s casual bar seating; an inner, more formal dining area; and terrace service in good weather. The lunch menu starts off with an unusual “Bacon and Blue Chips,” or potato wedges with smoked bacon and blue cheese, along with a lobster quesadilla and white asparagus soup. Lighter fare rules at midday, with sandwiches and salads taking center stage. At dinner, the chefs kick it up a notch, so that entrées include lamb chops, beef filet, Hawaiian sea bass, lobster ravioli and duck two ways: duck leg confit and duck meatballs. Dessert choices may be limited, and you can simply decide on the profiteroles, foregoing the warm chocolate cake. Ask about wine pairing for the meal.
