Tucked amongst condo developments a few blocks away from Greenbrae’s popular Bon Air Shopping Center, Jason's Restaurant is one of Marin’s power lunch destinations as well as a nice choice for a date, thanks to the cuisine from owner Jason Lee. The ambience includes plush banquettes, a friendly bar area and outdoor tables beneath a tent on a quiet patio. As for the menu, a starter of Dragon Prawns, a spiced-up version of shrimp tempura, is addictive, as is the tempura green beans. Lee does good things with ahi, such as piling it in martini glasses as Hawaiian-style poke, or serving it as a seared steak with coconut rice, tropical fruit salsa and those fine fried green beans. Blackened salmon Caesar is a popular salad, while house-made gnocchi with triple mushroom sauce and other pastas will satisfy yearnings for Italian cuisine. Desserts include a pile of profiteroles stuffed with ice cream in dark chocolate sauce.
