Jazmin Restaurant Restaurant Review: For home-cooked Mexican fare at affordable prices, head for Jazmin, a semi-romantic gem hidden behind San Jose’s central cathedral. The traditional Mexican and American fare features fresh fish with cilantro sauce, garlic and béchamel or “al gusto” (any way you want). There are ribs, burgers, vegetarian dishes, a good chile relleno sided with rice, beans and a small salad and, of course, chips and salsa to accompany your cerveza. The extravagant Pancho Villa Mexican combination plate includes a chile relleno, tender carne asada, taco, rice, beans and guacamole. The huge margaritas and naranjadas are perfect cool-downs. Historical photos of revolutionary Pancho Villa adorn the walls, while recorded Mexican music and mariachis drifting in and out add to the festive (yet tranquil) atmosphere.
