Johnnie's Beef Restaurant Review: Lots of Italian beef stands lurk around the Chicago area, and many have something good to offer. But Johnnie's is one of the best. It might have something to do with Big John --- a gruff sort of a guy --- who presides over the premises, or perhaps it's the low-impact atmosphere. Whatever the reason, this is a busy, busy beef stand. The sausage is as good as the beef; have the best of both worlds and order the beef-and-sausage combo. Whatever your choice, don't miss the homemade Italian ice --- lemons are squeezed daily for this glacier in a cup.
