THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Johnny Leverock's Seafood House Restaurant Review: This is the oldest seafood chain (business set sail in 1948) on the west coast of Florida. The story behind Johnny Leverocks seafood restaurants is that Leverock operated a service station near St. Petersburg and won an oyster bed in a card game so he opened a raw oyster bar and chowder house. Quality has always been the hallmark, making this chain usually rank a notch above the rest. Specialties include tropical coconut shrimp; onion-crusted salmon; crabmeat with Dijon-mayonnaise sauce; and salmon Wellington (salmon in Florentine sauce wrapped in a pastry shell and topped with hollandaise).
