THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED John's Waffle Shop Restaurant Review:

We know folks who drive clear across San Diego to have a waffle at John's. Frankly, we think they're nuts. This hole-in-the-wall, which has been around forever, is also favored by many well-heeled La Jollans, but we find the premises dreary and don't enjoy sitting at the counter and staring at a huge, flat-topped grill. We will concede, however, that the selection of waffles and other classic breakfast dishes is impressive, and we admire the servers for their promptness and perseverance. And the coffee always is hot.
