French fusion on the Upper East Side has never been as good as at JoJo, the first restaurant in chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's culinary empire (which includes his flagship Jean Georges and multiple worldwide locations of his Southeast Asian-inspired restaurant Spice Market). The dishes are served in a classic turn-of-the-century setting and remain traditional to Vongerichten. As his many fans know, the Alsace native is a master of cooking with Asian spices, infused oils, vegetable juices and exotic vinaigrettes. Using a minimum of butter, cream and flour, he creates the most vivid dishes we ever found in a place that was supposedly a simple bistro. |
