THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jones Barbeque Restaurant Review:
Jones signature sauce sustains beef, chicken and pork in slabs or on sandwiches. Tomato-based yet smoky, sweet with brown sugar but tart with vinegar, the sauce turns most any meat into a satisfying entrée. Jones’s joints are casual affairs, with order-at-the-counter service for eat-in and take-out orders. Staff is courteous and forthcoming when there’s a wait for meals, and side dishes here are as good as the main event. Collard greens? They’re really a delivery system for hunks of salty pork and a peppery broth in which hints of vinegar remove the greens’ bitterness. Cornbread comes in generous pieces, while coleslaw and potato salad stand up well at picnics and for take-out. Home-baked desserts include tarts, pies, cobblers, bread pudding and other caloric classics. Expect loosened buckles and post-meal naps punctuated by sweet dreams of return. Other locations.
