Dining room at Jones, Philadelphia, PAComfort food dominates the menu at Jones, a handsome, rough stone and warm wood trip back to the ’70s in a setting reminiscent of The Brady Bunch. Settle in by the fireplace for some macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and waffles, and beef brisket, or keep it simple with grilled cheese and tomato soup. It's open all day, so whenever the mood strikes, you can run in and try the meatloaf followed by Duncan Hines chocolate layer cake with a glass of milk, or a Jell-O parfait. The menu also has some inventive global bites, like the tandoori chicken kebabs and fish tacos. You can even take it home, if you phone ahead for take-out. Expect crowds and plenty of noise---not the spot for quiet conversation.
